Unconditional Parenting by Alfie Kohn

I LOVE this book! This book really addresses why asking “what does my child need & how can I meet that need?” vs. “how can I get my child to behave?” is so important. Alfie Kohn talks a lot about why not to use rewards & punishments. This book guides me daily in my parenting.

Nonviolent Communication by Marshall B. Rosenberg

Talk about emotional intelligence! This book helps guide you through how to communicate based on feelings and needs…yours and those of whom you’re communicating with. Super helpful in all aspects of life, not just parenting.

One Free Family with James and Taylor Davis

Oh my gosh. This podcast has supported me in so many ways. James & Taylor Davis are parents to 3 children. They practice peaceful parenting and give their children as much freedom as possible. They discuss how their life looks, how they come to their decisions & how they feel about many topics/questions that come up when parenting in this way. They are AMAZING.

Exploring Unschooling with Pam Laricchia

This podcast is so informative! Pam interviews unschooling parents and children who are/have been unschooled. While you don’t have to unschool to peacefully parent, I’ve found these two tend to go hand in hand. In fact, it was this podcast that introduced me to the concept of peaceful parenting.
